"COLORFUL" is the first collection of works by artist Wataru Uchida. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany, where he is based, his activities were greatly restricted, and he has enlarged and reconstructed small sketches he drew during these days to create a coloring book. The surreal world view where fiction and reality are mixed, the humorous expressions of animal motifs, and the simple colorless line drawings resonate with the scenery of a time that we know but have forgotten somewhere in our memories. Two essays, "External Memory Trash Can" by the artist himself and "Recycling Memory" by the publisher, and their English translations are included at the end of the book. -- Publisher's website
